For more than four decades, domestic and international corporations confronting legislative and regulatory problems in Washington DC, in world capitals, and in state capitals have looked to us as a trusted advisor.
In the current, fluid construction industry market, where our clients are sometimes required to create and maintain broad support for significant infrastructure projects, the Construction Projects, Infrastructure, and Finance Group relies heavily on professionals in our Public Policy Area to assist clientsin developing and maintaining public policy support, public funding, and/or public credit support for essential infrastructure and privatization projects.
We have a special track record of success in transportation, water, wastewater, telecom, manufacturing, and energy. With experience, skill, and a depth of resources, the Group’s public policy attorneys help clients achieve their goals by offering, for example, access to key lawmakers on Capitol Hill, assistance in
complex business transactions, navigation of the federal appropriations process, and advocacy for important federal, state, and local initiatives.
The Group includes a former Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and former high-ranking officials in the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As a whole, our team consists of a diverse group of attorneys and professionals— including legislative specialists, economists, and transportation consultants—many of whom came to us from Capitol Hill or a relevant federal agency. We have hands-on experience with virtually every department and independent agency of the federal government, and the close ties we maintain with these entities enable us to wield significant influence on behalf of our clients.
Our attorneys routinely work on matters related to traditional transportation and infrastructure issues, such as highway construction, maintenance, and improvement; international and domestic aviation; mass transit; rail; maritime and seaports; motor carriers; traffic safety; hazardous materials; and pipelines. We work closely with clients on homeland security-related matters, as well.
